2009. The City And It's Esthetic [Personal Massage As Public Property] Brankova 19. Street
In the cities, the streets are always the ones, that have intention to explain it's atmosphere and spirit. To explore and "recognize" any city, one must explore it's streets. It is common that, the architectures and engineers are the most relevant and competent for organizing and planning the city structure. However, habitants, by their customs and life style, are the ones responsible for leaving behind unique signatures and marking the territory as specific one.
My idea was to explore the streets and find all those "signatures": written names, graffiti's, signs, drawings, posters etc. Than, I have made plaster frames, from baroque-like wooden frames (like the ones for baroque paintings). And make those frames out of white plaster. The baroque style of frames would, in this way, represent the metaphor, that would refer to high arts-gallery space, and all the other elitist approachments to art and its venerators.
By finding those signatures and tiny street's values I would put them in to the frames (like shown on the photo-sketches) and by that, emphasize their existence and present them as an important part of the city's esthetic.
